Defenders delusion.

Well things are starting to quieten down and the regular performers are starting to shine through. For example, the likes of Lampard seem to be constantly scoring points every week. The same can be said for his team mate John Terry as well. Henry has had a slow start to the year but recent form has seen him begin to start knocking in the goals and hence, watch the points telly raise. Furthermore, the most popular defenders are still Chelsea and Man United defenders. The spin off though is they don't tend to come cheap. After Liverpool's water tight defensive efforts last season, they are a far cry this season - so far thus, I don't recommend to buy them at the moment. Same can be said for Wigan, they started off strong last season and this season I feel they will be lucky to survive in the top flight.

The defensive surprise packed to date is Portsmouth. It actually isn't to much of a surprise when they picked up the likes of Sol Campbell in the off season. That being said, the hay might have been made and sun might have shone. Still many points to still be made there. also Bolton seem to have made a good defensive start to the season. Aston Villa are another team who have started off fine with the likes of Melberg firing the first goal in at Arsenals new Emirates stadium. Also Ridgwell seems to have been firing in the points with the odd assist.

Still Man United defenders will be worth their weight in gold come the end of the season. Sadly to me, due to Chelsea's recent purchase of Ashley Cole, its time to get rid of Wayne Bridge. I cant see him getting too many more starts unless Cole is injured. Tip of the week, start looking at Arsenal defenders again, they are an unknown quantity but, are starting to hit form along with the team. With Gallas hitting spearheading the defence, I predict Arsenal are still to hit their straps and there could be many a defensive points to be scored there.
