Jamie Ward Prowse is a £4.5m Southampton mid who has played all 180 mins as at the end of GW2, making 28 crosses (12 successful). Not only is he a starting midfielder, but because of the amount of crosses he makes and the fact he provides lots of deliveries from set pieces, it sets him up nicely to cash in on for assists.
The other big benefit is he is bargain priced in the midfield. He makes a decent option for a regular starter because he is likely to be involved in many of Southampton's goals, or if you are packing an all-star midfield then he is exactly the type of player you want on the bench. So far, the FPL midfielders are shaping up as having is no runaway big point scorers, ala Ronaldo or last year's GBale. This means a team can have cheaper players across the mids, which will allow extra cash to go into must-have big names elsewhere.
But dont just take my word for it - Southampton fans thinks he's got a big future. Ward-Prowse is a bargain at £4.5m, even if he's rotated every now and then. He takes set pieces and delivers to a range of quality strikers who are capable of putting away his assists. At the price, he is definitely a crunchy option worthy of consideration.
