Our Fantasy Picks for GW1

Schmeichel

Ivanovic Mertesacker Cedric

Walcott Lallana Hazard Barkley

Costa van-Wolfswinkel Rooney

Leicester are a good shout to keep a clean sheet against Sunderland.
Chelsea are the big guns and can't / shouldn't be overlooked.
Lallana & Walcott are fantasticly good pre-season.
S'hampton play the dreadful Newcastle, who will be booed off their home park in GW1.
Everton are likely to put a few past Watford & Barkley is good value.
van Wolfswinkel put a few away in preseason & knows where goal is.
Man Utd have epic mids now, and Rooney is the sole forward.

Snow Making Captaincy A Gamble

With all the cold white weather that has hit the country lately, many games have become doubtful for this weekends rounds. At time of writing a few games have been postponed, meaning your players from that team will not get a run. This will have the biggest impact on your captaincy, since the Value or Form guidelines for emergency captain have a great way of leaving you with the second (or third) best option. Bitter experience indicates a correlation between the need for an emergency captain, and progress in the Fantasy Cup. Not that we hold grudges here at Fantasy Premier League. Oh no.

Anyway, games postponed so far include:
Hull vs Chelsea
Liverpool vs Tottenham
Sunderland vs Bolton
Burnley vs Stoke
Fulham vs Portsmouth

Several more games could yet be cancelled, depending on what the weather brings over the next 48 hours. Rumour has is that the Man City game is at risk as the forecast isn't promising.

The big risk here is that players take a 4 point (or more) hit by making transfers to swap in players whose game is not yet cancelled, only to find that the forthcoming weather cuts their game down too. Compounding this is the cost factor; if you bought in a player early on who has made a significant gain in price, you will only receive half that price rise back, leaving you with the requirements to come up with the other half if you want to buy them back. And since most teams will have a double gameweek in the future to catch up, demand on them may become high.

Clearly, using transfers to make the most of the weather situation is a risky move that could pay great dividends. The two games most likely to be played at this stage are Arsenal - Everton and Birmingham - Man Utd. Captaincy choices should probably be between Rooney, Valencia, Arshavin or Vermaelen.

Be wary with transfers due to snow; this week the best options would be to consider Jonny Evans (in for Vidic) or Denilson returning for the Gunners.

Without the injured Van Persie and Fabregas whose are the life of the team while Alex Song and Eboue were called for African Cup duty, can Gunners still proceed?

Before this, Wenger's side has been in a rich vein of form since their only home defeat against Chelsea at the end of November. In achieve of it, it is not fully depends on the effort of key players. Others in the team, Wenger and even the youngster sharing to contribute on these. As a result, Arsenal should able to maintain the hot form even if without some key players today. The exploded team morale will bring Gunners a victory against low form Everton who has falling off in this season.
