Our Fantasy Picks for GW1

Schmeichel

Ivanovic Mertesacker Cedric

Walcott Lallana Hazard Barkley

Costa van-Wolfswinkel Rooney

Leicester are a good shout to keep a clean sheet against Sunderland.
Chelsea are the big guns and can't / shouldn't be overlooked.
Lallana & Walcott are fantasticly good pre-season.
S'hampton play the dreadful Newcastle, who will be booed off their home park in GW1.
Everton are likely to put a few past Watford & Barkley is good value.
van Wolfswinkel put a few away in preseason & knows where goal is.
Man Utd have epic mids now, and Rooney is the sole forward.

Last Ditch Cellar Dweller Picks

We are almost at the end of another season but there are still plenty of EPL fantasy points up for grabs. As the cellar dwellers battle it out to avoid the drop, there is opportunity to bring in a couple of relegation battlers. At the bottom it's do or die for 5 of the clubs and there may be some points being scored, probably in the attacking areas (there probably will not be any defensive spoils. Here are some relegation options for the final 2 games:

Sunderland - POR {a} CHE {h}
As Pompey make their own safety will they slack off a little here? The Black Cats have to go for it here as it is unlikely they will get a thing against Chelsea, even if they need to. Saying that, Sunderland were plucky in their last game and their current league standing seems to see them as the most likely to survive out of these 5. Good Pick: Mabranque - his work-rate in the center of the park might be just what they need and he has had some of the cleanest assists this season.

Hull City - BOL {a} MAN U {h}
Free fall has never meant more than Hull's slump since last year. The Bolton game is a must-win. They are capable, but must not rely on the others below them (although one suspects it will be the bottom 3's failures that keep Hull up). That said, they still need to pull their finger out because relying on the United game is a big mistake. Good Pick: Geovanni - I think the loss of confidence and disagreements with the manager might not stand in the way of one last piece of magic...

Newcastle - FUL {h} AST {a}
Fulham can still spoil the party here with a very serious European challenge. And can Newcastle do it on the last day of the season against a Villa side wanting to secure 5th spot? This is a taller order than first glance of the fixture suggests. Good Pick: Duff - it might just take a chance shot at goal or a last stitch cross or crucial surge of pace, and this guy has the ability.

Middlesbrough - AST {h} WES {a}
People have mixed views about Boro - they are without resources or confidence, but have some decent young unknowns and a dedicated manager. They beat Villa away and can probably beat the Hammers on their turf too. Its a big "if" but I believe they will give it everything and anything can happen. Good Pick: Downing - this would be the perfect time to get his first goal of the season, this might also show his commitment to stay in the Premier League.

West Brom - LIV {h} BLA {a}
It would be great to see West Brom make a remarkable escape and join their Midland rivals Wolves and Birmingham in the big league next season. But to beat Liverpool at home? I route for the underdog here big time but don't see it happening. Away at Blackburn, they can certainly ruffle their feathers and come away with a last day victory. Good Pick: Brunt - an unsung hero at the Hawthorns, his ball possession, edge of the area passing and right-place-at-the-right-time mentality could make him more heroic than ever.
