Need a cheap back-up goalkeeper? Then Patrick Kenny, of Sheffield United, is your man. He plays every game, and as Sheffield will struggle to keep out the attacks of more established Premiership teams, Kenny will be called on to make many saves. After two games he is averaging 5 saves per game, and those stops are helping his points rack up.
By the time the season ends he will not have scored the same points as the likes of Van Der Sar, Reina, or Cech, but he will prove good value for money. But act quickly to get him - people are queueing up to add Kenny to their team. Last week over 13,700 people transfered him into their teams, and as a result his price rose by £0.1m. As each Gameweek passes and he consistently earns a point or two each week, more and more players will draft him into their squad - so his price will rise further.
And that is one of Kenny's best uses at the moment - as a mid-term investment. Buy now at £3.6m, wait for a month or so, and once his price has climbed enough, sell him off. Back-up keepers are only partially called upon so he can be sold without too much impact; but if he earns £0.3m for your team it could be incredibly useful when you make other transfers.
Act quickly though - the longer you wait the less profit you can make from the Sheffield stopper!
Our Fantasy Picks for GW1Schmeichel Ivanovic Mertesacker Cedric Walcott Lallana Hazard Barkley Costa van-Wolfswinkel Rooney |
Leicester are a good shout to keep a clean sheet against Sunderland. Chelsea are the big guns and can't / shouldn't be overlooked. Lallana & Walcott are fantasticly good pre-season. S'hampton play the dreadful Newcastle, who will be booed off their home park in GW1. Everton are likely to put a few past Watford & Barkley is good value. van Wolfswinkel put a few away in preseason & knows where goal is. Man Utd have epic mids now, and Rooney is the sole forward. |
